Living Adventurously

At the start of the millennium, Alastair Humphries departed on a mission to cycle around the world over a period of four years and on a budget of just seven thousand pounds. Totally alone, without a support crew or any family, Alastair rode through many of the most dangerous countries in the world. Despite this, he writes, in his two inspirational books which tell his story, how the people in these countries were not the most dangerous people but instead the most welcoming and generous he came across. In a time of scepticism, one man’s journey shows how little we know about the world and the people in it.

Our 2019 Promotional Calendar followed his route by depicting 12 of the 60 countries through which Alastair cycled.
